Formats has combined elements from two successful impact crusher ranges to create a single new machine which increases efficiency in secondary crushing.

With the development of the PFW1415Ⅱ , Formats brings together the advantages of two impact crusher ranges, in a completely revised design, featuring cost- effectiveness, ease of maintenance, and the same build quality that you expect from Formats. The new generation of crusher offers customers a multitude of options together with reduced operating costs and improved efficiency. The PF series is also characterised by a consistent product quality and a high level of operational safety.

The new Formats PF series follows the development principle of ‘platform strategy’, which means: one machine housing – several options. The customer can choose between different rotor designs and impact apron options to increase the efficiency of the crusher. Also, the modular design concept means that other specifications, such as the grinding path, can be readily integrated into the crusher – and even retrofitted to suit changing requirements.

The PF series is suitable for secondary crushing of wear-intensive hard rock as well as for low-wear soft and medium-hard rock. Internal fit-out of the crusher can be tailored to meet duty requirements: for hard rock crushing, solid wear-resistant high-chrome cast components are used for wear linings; for soft to medium-hard rock, internal wear parts are manufactured in appropriate materials to match duty.

Impact aprons and optional grinding path are infinitely hydraulically adjustable at the push of a button, and the hydraulic control system locks the impact aprons in position during operation. In the event of an overload situation, however, impact aprons automatically retract in a controlled manner, returning to their pre-set position as soon as the situation returns to normal – damage to internals is avoided and the throughput of oversize is limited.
